A gathering of power sector experts has expressed the view that coal based power generation is here to stay in India for a long time to come
8In this context, examples are given of how retiring old plans and putting up super critical plants can make business sense
8Retofitting is an option too but the cost benefits will have to weighted out carefully
One point of view was the decommissioning should be compulsory for units which are more than 17 yeas old and that should be accompanied by new 800 MW units.
